We want you to know, to understand and to discuss with us our goals. We want you to look often into our busy, happy, noisy, creative classrooms and see your child at play. We want you to realize the vitality of that play and the importance of what your child is learning. Parents and teachers together can help your child develop his/her full human potential. Child Care Committee The Child Care Committee includes day care and weekday preschool parents and church members and governs the Center's activities. The committee's primary function is to provide consultation and support to the director in policy implementation and the overall administration of the Center. The committee meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. All parents are invited to serve on the committee. Those interested should contact the Child Care Office. Parent-Teacher Conferences Formal parent-teacher conferences are offered in the spring and in fall. Written progress reports will be shared and discussed. Informal conferences will be arranged upon request. Parent Visitation and Observation The Center has an open visitation policy. You are encourage to visit the classrooms. In order to get a good idea of the total program, you should plan to visit for 1-2 hours. It is best not to bring other children with you. Let the teacher know when you plan to come. Each classroom has 2 open houses per year. They will be held during times the Center is open. Parents are encouraged to come and enjoy the fun activities with their children and meet other parents. Security The Center doors are locked at all times. A key pad code is required to enter. Parents must sign children in and out daily. Please call the Center if someone other than a parent will be picking up your child. Teachers will request ID and compare it to information you have provided before releasing your child to someone unfamiliar. Notices and Newsletters A classroom newsletter is printed several times throughout the year. This newsletter will keep you informed of upcoming events, special notices and the planned activities of each group. Additional informational notices will also be sent home with your child as necessary. Treats -- Birthday and Other Easy to serve treats are welcome and appreciated. Food brought for service in the Center must arrive unopened as packaged by the bakery or manufacturer. Arrangements for treats should be discussed with the teacher. We encourage nutritious snacks and ask your assistance in keeping candy treats to a minimum.
